New prizes

We’re all aware that things have changed over the last couple years, and with the supply chain issues seen around the world, it was impossible to continue the tradition of giving away a car as the grand prize in 2022. But finding a new path in an ever-changing world has given us something incredibly special: this year, Mountain Runners will be giving away electric bicycles to several grand prize winners!

Electric bicycles are a new way for everyday folks to move around with ease–especially in small towns like Mt. Shasta! Our winners will have the ability to cruise the streets (and trails like Lake Siskiyou) on their brand new electric bikes…

t-shirts

You’ve seen it at gas pumps, the grocery store, and in restaurants: prices of everyday items are trending upwards. To keep up with ever-increasing pricing, Mountain Runners has made the decision to simplify the process (and not tempt any supply chain nightmares!) by sticking to regular unisex and child t-shirts, and foregoing adult tanks and tech-style shirts.

You might also notice that registrants must sign up by June 5th to be guaranteed a t-shirt in their selected size. This is to ensure our beloved t-shirts arrive in Mt. Shasta in time for the 4th and to eliminate wasteful overages we’ve had in years past. Speaking of–visit us in Parker Plaza on July 3rd and 4th to add to your t-shirt collection. We’ll be selling overstock from past years t-shirts.

registration & t-shirt pickup

It’s going to be a party at Parker Plaza on July 3rd and 4th! We’re bringing the fun to one centralized location this year, where you’ll be able to pick up your t-shirt and bib, register last-minute, and enjoy the patriotic atmosphere all in one place. Come enjoy the live music and entertainment downtown on the 3rd from 10:00am-7:00pm, or swing by Parker Plaza before the Walk/Run the morning of the 4th.

Keep in mind, it’s best to register online by June 5th to secure the lowest pricing and a t-shirt in your selected size. Registration pricing will increase on June 6th!

Mountain Runners is dedicated to keeping families at the forefront of everything we do. While adult entry prices had to increase due to the inflation on everything from wholesale t-shirts to highway closures, we are maintaining our 17-and-under pricing from years past.

This year there will be no food samples along the 2-Mile Walk course. A few factors came into play when making the decision, with the main one being local restaurants feeling too understaffed to devote employees to both the course and their establishments. We totally understand that! Let’s show our support to these hard working local restaurants by paying them a visit during the week before and after the 4th.
